About the exhibition
Chandana Sakhari lives in a part of Naria that is disappearing. She sits in a shed made of unpainted sheet metal parts that appear to come from several different houses. Like thousands of others, she has lost her home because of the river erosion in Bangladesh, and forced to relocate.
Enekvist is exhibiting a portrait series about women who have been forced to leave their homes due to climate change in Bangladesh. The district of Naria, with its 200,000 inhabitants, has acute problems today. Between June and October 2018, 375 families lost their homes.
Troy Enekvist is a Swedish photographer and journalist whose visual stories focus on human fate.
